Anyone’s toddler not talking yet?

He says Mom, and babbles like a mad man but he’s not actually saying words. He’ll be 20 months on the 21st.

He responds to his name and understands everything we tell him because he responds when we ask him to do something.

It’s like he’s trying to talk to us but it doesn’t come out as words just sounds.

Anyone else in the same boat? Don’t know if I should go the speech therapy route yet...at his 18 month check up the pediatrician said nothing about him not knowing words
