The placenta practically leaves a gaping wound in your uterus. There is a reason they say to wait. You can get an infection, or hemorrhage and die from not waiting. 6 weeks won’t kill your relationship

I haven’t even given birth yet and I already know I’m not even going to want to have sex until months after delivery lol I don’t see how people have sex only a few weeks pp!

You have to wait as long as your doctor tells you to wait. They don’t throw out numbers willy nilly, there is reason behind waiting until you are fully healed.

Looks like I’m the odd one out. Nope. We wait until I stop bleeding, usually around 3 weeks.

We waited 6 weeks until I could have my mirena put back in. I was not taking any chances with getting pregnant again that fast!! I think we even waited longer than 6 weeks because I was still scared of what in the world was happening down there. But I know for sure I waited till I was back on birth control.

I thought it would take me months, especially since I had no libido during pregnancy 😳 
But, I was crazy enough to want it really soon after. The almost 5 weeks we waited were so much fun, because it just felt like a really long tease 🤭 
We did before my 6 week checkup, after the pp bleeding had stopped and my stitches weren't as painful when I sat. LoL 
It was crazy how soon after giving birth I felt like myself again, well, all except for healing from an episiotomy 🤪 I probably didn't help my recovery on that 🤦 
6 months pp everything is back to normal 😊 sex is actually better than before 🤔 GL!

I had my first post partum appointment at 4 weeks. He cleared me then, but it all depends. Sometimes there’s tearing that you have to wait to heal or you can reopen the wound.

It’s mainly to do with the uterus healing from everything and healing capillaries etc. You don’t want to being pushing air in to there! 
Talk it through with your dr and see what they say 😊 and congrats by the way.
