Dnc for fet?

Hi. We’ve had one successful fresh IVF cycle and one failed fet, which was last month. My dr said I could have a dnc to clean out my uterus and that might help with implantation for this next round. I’m a little hesitant to have a dnc when it’s not medically necessary. Has anyone done this? I’m really nervous. He said it’s like “hitting the reset button on your uterus”

Thank you for your responses. The more I read about it the more I’m surprised that they suggested this too. I’m not going to have it done. But now I’m concerned about my dr. To suggest something that could be that harmful and tell me there are no complications to worry about, how can I trust him now?! It’s hard to go through this process with someone you don’t trust and he’s the only one in the area. This is so stressful.

A period sheds the lining. There would be no reason to medically scrape away the lining. Using birth control to start a fet or for a cycle before the fet would also “reset” things. I would not do that procedure.

I've never heard of this.. actually quite the opposite as my hospital didn't wanna do a d&c when I had a missed miscarriage as they said there are so many possibilities of complication after it. I had to try and do the medical abortion process first, because that's way healthier according to them.
