Bassinet?

Question

Weird question, but where did everyone put their bassinet? Directly beside their bed or just in the room with them? My daughter is 6 weeks old & her bassinet is right beside my side of the bed. I can't use my side table so it's in the corner of the room. I want to switch her bassinet & my side table so I can actually use it but for some reason I'm having reservations about her not being directly beside me? Lol.

I would want to put the bassinet next to the bed as well but their crib against the wall

Inside the room with me. Sometimes I put in directly next to my bed when it came time for sleep training. And so that I wouldn’t have to keep getting up out of bed to check on my son when he started fussing.

Mine is and has been at the foot of our bed since the day we brought her home. It just made more sense as far as space goes, along with the layout of our room. She's 5 months now. I am a light sleeper so whenever I heard her stiring, I'd check on her. At least while she wasn't sleeping thru the night. But she's been sleeping thru the night without needing to be fed or have a diaper change for almost 2 months now. Every once in a while if I wake up in the middle of the night, I'll sit up and peek over the foot of our bed at her.

I had my son a few feet from me for the first few months. In the early hours of the morning I appreciated being able to stumble half asleep to pick him up, and occasionally fall asleep with him between us in bed and then wake up and just put him back in his own bed. His was a pack and play with the bassinet at the top, so he eventually graduated to the lower setting and it took up a lot more room than a bassinet... so there’s that. He also napped in his own room during the day so we tried to establish the idea of his crib being a nice place from an early age.
