I work in a day care and several people do give gifts to us, though not everyone does. It’s not at all expected but it is super nice to get little bit of extra appreciation!

My kids have a nanny instead of daycare and I always give her a gift for Christmas. I give my eldest’s preschool teachers a gift as well. I’d definitely give the day care staff a gift if we went that route.
