Why so few women in science and math field?

Trying to decide on my major, thinking about architecture... Why so few women in science and math field? Is that very difficult for women to work in those industry?

It's still a stigma against women in STEM. Those are seen as men jobs. I mean look at hidden figures. People often underestimate women smh. But, over the last few decades women have been making strides in those fields. But it's still a man's "club" smh and men will advocate for other men just because they are men

I know lots of women in the sciences and maths fields. Most veterinarians and doctors are women. Dentistry also has a very large female population. Nutrition, pharmacy, nursing are also female dominated. All of which are incredibly difficult and science-based professions. Most universities are over 59-60% female in all departments as well. Including the sciences and maths. There’s a couple that are still male dominated (engineering being the most common). It’s not because women can’t manage these careers it’s just that they are in other fields of study.

The computer field used to be dominated by woman. For a while though math and science has been seen as a "boy" thing. They have had loads of math and science toys geared towards young boys, but are really just starting to do that for girls now that you have programs trying to increase young girls' interests in STEM fields. They feel the early exposure will help lead more girls into those fields.

I dont know if that's true. All my college math professors have been women, same for biology. I know many women in science professions. My sister is a geologist, sil is an aerospace engineer, pharmacy is dominated by women, pathology is pretty even, my aunt is a software engineer,  grandma was a math and finance major...

Society has for years discoursed girls and women from math and sciences. While we are starting to push against this, there’s already decades of damage to undo.
I walk into a computer science class and I’m the only woman. I walk into shop class, and I’m the only woman. Over time the “boys club” feeling and isolation can deter many women from those fields.
This is a VERY well researched phenomenon. I advise you do some research on it, because there is so much information about it out there and why it happens.

I’m majoring in a science field...I find that there’s more science majors at my college than guys (community college atm). So technically...it’s reversed. It’s too hard for the guys and easy for the girls😂.

I was called to teach music. If that hadn’t been what I felt I needed to do, I likely would have done something with biology because I loved it and was very good at it in school.
I use math and logic in my work every day.

Idk I am personally terrible at math so that’s why I didn’t trend in that direction.
