What is child support used for?

Because my BD thinks the $79 he pays a month is supposed to go towards the gas money to bring our child to and from his house every other weekend. 
Cuz he doesn’t wanna drive the hour to see him.

Food, clothes, diapers etc. necessities. Not for gas  to transport him because BD to damn lazy

It’s meant to help with housing, food, transportation, clothing, activities, daycare, etc. I don’t understand why people are still confused about child support. It isn’t intended to be itemized.

When my parents where sharing custody of me the one who had me for that weekend was the one who would pick me up and drop me back off. Neither one of them expected the other to spend the money on gas. Just necessities that I would need. 
Idk why he won’t pick up his kid. Almost like he’s acting like it’s a chore. Did you guys have your child support settled legally or did you agree to just let him give you only $79? If not I’d recommend getting this stuff down on official paper. That way he can’t pick and choose how much. He’s going to provide “x” amount of money each month for your child and he had privileges to see him on “x” weekends. The privilege part is actually a big deal. My friends father took (kidnaped in a way) her when she was a kid from her mom and they moved. There was this huge deal because they were both the parents and the police had to find out whose care the child was in and etc bc they had never handled it legally.

It’s supposed to go towards your child’s necessities. Which includes a place to live, transportation, food, activities and etc. that’s what the child support office told my ex husband. It’s for anything the kids might need. I get around $900/mo for my two boys (when I actually get it) and it helps so much. With school lunch, activities, clothing, sports and anything else they may need; they are pretty dang expensive. Since I do get so much in CS I make sure that they have very nice clothes, shoes, and etc.

I’d double check with a lawyer. Our custody / support order states for his visits and weekends he’s responsible for pick up drop off. And the support he pays is for day to day expenses (food, diapers) for our kids

Why the hell you doing that for. If he wants to see his child he needs to find whatever transport he needs to to get him there, WTF
