Calcium/magnesium/zinc?

Is it safe to take a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement when you’re nursing?

Not sure about Zinc, but my Lactation consultant says CalMag is an excellent remedy when on periods cause milk tends to drop then when on periods or ovulating. Apparently during a period these levels tend to drop. So the supplements just help elevate them back up again.

I don’t know about calcium and zinc but there’s really positive research about magnesium supplements while breastfeeding

Talk to your doctor first, but typically it is okay, and even recommended once you get your period back. It’s a good supplement to help with low supply that can pop up around the week of your cycle.
