Get Highlights?

I just found out I am pregnant. So I’m only 4 1/2 weeks along. My first pregnancy I never dyed my hair. I have a hair appointment today and I was going to go ahead and get highlights in my hair. I called my doctors office and the nurse said it was OK. Thoughts?

I'm going to wait until 2nd trimester just to be on the safe side. I've researched this and it seems inconclusive. It's my first pregnancy and I'm over 35 so I need all the help I can get to keep baby healthy. The worst part is I needed my hair done a month ago and couldn't get it done because I went out of town unexpectedly 😣 but at least when we announce the pregnancy I will have fresh highlights!

I did highlights my entire first pregnancy. I didn’t dye my whole head though.

I did so much research on this with my last pregnancy! Most of the info says to make sure the room is well ventilated, and use an ammonia free color. It's the fumes that can be harmful. I colored my hair during pregnancy twice without issue. But consult your Dr if you're concerned.
