What temperature should the room be newborn 3 weeks

We are in summer in South Africa and we are experiencing a heat wave. Our new born is 3 weeks old. What temperate should the room be at night and more specifically is it safe to have an air conditioning on?

if you are comfortable, baby is too. 
if you are hot, baby is hot. Etc. dress your baby like you would dress yourself. 
I wouldn't put anything on at night that might cause the baby to get too warm.

Really if you’re comfortable then they will be fine too. Just make sure baby has a sleeper on.
