Question for y’all, do you think it’s weird if the person you’re dating still wears things their ex gave them? For example, my girlfriend still wears the necklace (I just recently found out on Instagram) that she had matching with her ex girlfriend.

I don't think it's that weird. I still wear some of the things my ex gave me, because they're nice things and I like them, even if I don't like the way I got them.

I have a pair of earrings my ex gave me getting close to 20 years ago. I still wear them, they don’t mean anything to me besides the fact that I like them. So I don’t really see the problem with wearing tings your ex got you. Though, when it’s matching or has a deeper meaning than a simple gift then it might be weird. I’d personally just leave it alone though. She might just really like the necklace.

I do not think it’s weird. When you are in a partnership with someone it’s because you love them and all that they are and that doesn’t mean the latest edition of them, it means the beautiful culmination of their whole life and all of their history. Everyone carries pieces of the people they knew in their life. We are all beautiful for it.

I have converse that my ex gave me that I wear all the time but they don’t remind me of him. its a problem if the person is wearing it for the sentimental reason and not just because they like the material thing.

Clothes and stuff yeah that’s normal. Not sure about a matching necklace. I had some lovely jewellery from my ex that I sold when we broke up because it reminded me of him too much.
