Trying to get there

Let's start off with, I've been fat my whole life. It hit a record high when I stepped on the scale and was 265. I'm 5'7". So I'm considered morbidly obese. I started having body pains all over and it's only been two years since my sister died of a stroke. I thought this is enough. I've been using MyFitnessPal to track my calories to stay under 1800 but 98% of the time I'm hitting between 1000-1200 calories. I started dec 7th and yesterday I cheated for the first time and went up to 1850. I'm getting discouraged since I'm eating well but the pounds have stopped coming off. I'm now 248 but I can't get lower. Please help!
