Who has gotten married in their own home?

Fiancé and I plan on getting married the end of 2019, we have a good amount of money saved for it but now were wanting to put it toward a house and get married at the house so we have a bigger downpayment, and a housewarming wedding party type thing. Anyone else do something similar?

Thats what we did. We eloped then had a backyard wedding reception thing super laid back like an outdoor bbq it was great and saved so much money

We were renting but got married at a local park downtown and then had the reception at home. It was very quaint. Super laid back, just like us.

We didn't personally but our friends had their reception at their home. They had it catered and it was nice for the most part. The only down side was only 1 bathroom for all of the guests. There were a lot of small children and the bathroom was pretty geiss really fast.
