Do OPKs get darker as ovulation approaches? I have PCOS and have been TTC for 4 months. I am expected to ovulate on January 1st but have never gotten a positive OPK before. The one I had today (on bottom) was the darkest I've ever seen!

I have pcos and have been using OPKs for the last year and this is the very first time it has ever been positive for me. In fact I took three tests to be sure lol. (The test line is on the left the control line on the right) Typically I always have two lines appear regardless of when I test. I’ve had them get super close in color but never had the test line be undeniably the same or darker then the control line. The problem is some people with pcos the OPKs don’t work at all because our hormones are so out of wack. If you search OPKs with pcos it can be a little discouraging. So I still use them but I always keep in mind that it might be faulty results.

Keep testing. Mine looked like yours and I thought I had missed the surge but finally on CD 17, my test line was darker than my control line. I would test twice a day as you get closer to ovulation just to be sure not to miss it!

They are darker in person than they appear in photo, all my OPKs last month looked like the top one - very faint. Would love some insight!!!
