Is there such a thing as to much breastfeeding?

My LO is feeding for almost an hour with roughly an hour break. Am I not giving him enough in 1 feeding or is this normal?

It’s fine. Your baby is helping establish your milk supply. Baby may be hitting a growth spurt as well. As long as he is gaining weight and hitting the milestones all is good

Is he activity eating the full hour? Is he gaining weight well? My son ate frequently like that due to a tongue-tie, but he'd only eat for about 5 minutes at a time. Maybe your LO is good through a growth spurt?

Not @ all if baby is hungry let them eat. I ebf with no bottles & we had hour long feedings all the time

My first child did this when she was born. She would nurse for an hour straight and it made my nipples so raw (sorry tmi) that they started cracking and bleeding. I went and saw a lactation specialist because I was worried that my daughter wasn’t getting enough milk, and we established that she was not latching properly. It was undetectable to me because she was latching, but just not in the right way. The specialist was so helpful and so gentle in teaching both my baby and me tips, tricks, and the proper technique. She prescribed me a topical cream that healed my nipples and my baby started getting more milk I’m a shorter feeding, which also helped me regulate my milk supply. I would highly recommend seeing a lactation specialist which are available through most insurances at the hospital you gave birth at or through some separate practices. You can also find one that accepts your insurance through your insurance provider’s website. Good luck girl!! Breast feeding is hard and trying but you got this!!

Is he crying very often? Is he newborn? He may not be getting enough food, if you notice he doesn’t have usual newborn behavior then he is probably really really hungry and you should try supplementing with formula to see if that’s the problem.
