When I had gestational diabetes, my nutritionist said that carbs during pregnancy are an absolute must because ketosis is dangerous to pregnancy. Because you have to lower your carbs with gestational diabetes, they actually have you test your urine to make sure you don't have ketones. Lower carbs is okay, like avoiding sugar and white bread etc but keto during pregnancy is a no.

I keep trying to edit the post but it’s not letting me. #1 Obviously supposed to say Keto #2 I’m wanting to lose my unnecessary weight and working out hasn’t done anything, I keep gaining. My brother and sister in law went on this diet and they both lost so much weight she is almost skinner than me and she is 10 years older than me...

Sorry guys didn’t mean to have everyone flip out! I lost weight my whole first pregnancy and my ob was completely fine with it she just gave me a cut off and told me I couldn’t go under that weight and I couldn’t lose more than 4 lbs a week. I am trying the same thing with this one and it’s not working like the first time that’s why I asked.

So there is a type called dirty Keto where you still eat some carbs you just limit them that could possibly work. Talk with your ob and see what they say also there are Facebook groups for pregnancy and Keto with tons of tips and tricks. But always consult your doctor and if you have insurance maybe see a nutritionist to get a more personalized diet plan.
