Just trying no contraception

So I've been on the pill for 10years none stop since I first started having sex.. I am in a stable relationship, due to be married (at some point!) A stable job etc just wanting to potentially get pregnant soon. As I've been on the combined pill I've read it can take a while to come out of your system but not heard anything about starting periods again and/or the pains of periods..wondered if anyone can help but also what other methods can we use?
