Bleeding During Sex

I’ve recently started dating someone that is very well endowed. I have always had a smaller vagina and have had pain with guys that have had bigger penises, but every time I have sex with my new boyfriend I bleed. It’s not a ton but it makes me feel bad and it gets on both of us. This might be because I haven’t been sexually active in about a year. Is this normal? And is there anything I can do to help prevent this from happening?
