Story Time

My mother was a social worker and there was a mental ill lady that never spoke a word. I don’t think anyone knew why “she lost her mind” or why she would scream and cry at times. On the property was a chapel that they would escort the patients to every Sunday . That day she did her usual scream and cry and it literally frightened the other ladies and workers. My mother embraced her with a hug and told her to sing. She looked at my mother and closed her eyes and sung . The words stuck with my mother because she said 🎼 “Preacher may lie , but God don’t lie, your friends may lie, but God don’t lie , your husband may lie but God don’t lie🎼 etc.”

Come to find out the lady gave the church so much money, and her husband left her. She was broke and lost her house and went to the church for help but they picked up and left.

I got up this morning thinking about that for some reason . My mother’s face when she told me was different because she was a minister and put 20 plus years at her church but I think in that moment she understood why many people don’t go to church. People hurt people even if they are known as believers or nonbelievers. You never really know why people are the way they are either. I still believe in God, and I make it my business to listen to other people’s point of views & their perspectives of spirituality. If someone hates the church , I listen to them too. Ladies , listen to understand not to speak even if they’re saying something that “offends” you. Be open and have compassion for one another ..... it could be you one day that’s misunderstood and you will receive the same treatment that you dished out to others in their time of need.
