Should I do PGS testing?

Question

I meet with my doctor for a consult today but I wanted to get some advice. I believe it’s $4000 extra. I’m 29, unexplained Infertility and we have conceived before. Thank you!

at 29, studies have not shown to be significantly beneficial to do the testing. I'm 30, I opted to skip testing and got pregnant with traditional IVF, not saying that will happen to every case under 35. If it's something you really want to do, then do it. I am still planning on doing non-invasive genetic testing, but didn't feel PGS was necessary. I have pcos and unexplained fertility, TTC for over 2 years and didnt get anything close to a BFP.

Such a hard decision. I dont know the research on if it’s better or not. We did it because I had 2 miscarriages and no other problems they could find. I was 29 at the time of my retrieval and of our 8 5 day blastocysts 6 of them were PGS normal. My husbands step sister did not have miscarriages, never got pregnant on her own, did PGS at age 29 and of her 11 blastocysts 3 were PGS normal. So I’m not sure what the difference is and how you could know what will happen before you do it. Good luck making this decision and with this whole process.

I’m 31 and decided to do pgs, of the ten blasts we tested there were four abnormal. I had never had an issue with chromosomal problems in my previous pregnancies (placental abruption and cervical incompetence) but decided to do everything possible not to lose another baby. Three of our four abnormal ones were abnormalities that are not compatible with life. We are very grateful that we have six perfect blasts left to work with.

I watched a documentry about ivf and pgs testing here in the uk and unless there is significant new research then it doesnt neccessary give you a better chance of conception and its alot of money
