Paraguard Problems?

Question

I’ve had the copper IUD for 4 months and I get this spotting that starts like 2 weeks before and all the way up until my actual period comes. Then once my period is over, I’m good for like maybe 4-5 days then the spotting starts again. And it’s not just blood, it’s uterine lining too. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound to make sure the IUD is in the right position which it is.... 
Anyone else had anything similar to this happen? I’m about to have it taken out because I just can’t deal.

Same here, except this was my life from Jan 2015 when I put it in to oct 2018. However I switched to cloth pads (check amazon) in May of 2016 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! My periods were lighter and spotting got sooo much better. Only in October of 2018 I started having completely normal periods with no spotting before. 
However, i do advise checking your doctor since for me, i had to get antibiotics at one point when I was bleeding a lot and that helped.

Yeah I had problems for like the first eight months. Last couple months have been normal again for me. I still spot when I ovulate though 😓 I'd wait it out.

That’s the reason why I downloaded this app. To track it. For me it has gotten a little better with the spotting. Before my IUD I had an implant which I removed and made my hormones go crazy. So I believe that contributed to that my spotting. I see below the comments and there right at the beginning it happens just wait it out.

That's common for the first 6 months. Try to wait it out.

Yes in the beginning I did. But it should go away. Mine did but not til about the 6 month mark
