Question on adding Liquid Vitamin D to bottles.
I have tried googling an answer to this, but haven’t gotten and exact answer... maybe someone here knows?
Our pediatrician recommended Vitamin D for breastfed babies. We used to give it with my son’s bedtime bottle, but now I am back to work and he only had bottles when I am away from him. I want to put it in a bottle for the caregiver to give him, but I am wondering this:
Question: Is it ok to put liquid Vitamin D in a bottle of fresh (never frozen) breastmilk that will be refrigerated for a while before being warmed and given to the baby?
Will the Vitamin have any negative effect on the milk if left with it refrigerated for a while, or does it need to be added right before feeding?
The only info I found online just confirmed the Vitamin won’t ‘go bad’ or rancid, even if it is expired (it may just be less potent if expired).
