periods with nexplanon implant

i got my first nexplanon implant almost exactly a year ago, and since getting it my periods have been spaced far apart with little spotting in between. however i started a period nearly 4 weeks ago now, and it still has not fully stopped. it’s like a regular, average flow period for about 5 days, then spotting for a couple days until another period like flow begins again. i’ve heard the implant often causes unpredictable spotting for the first year, but i haven’t experienced anything like this yet. please let me know if you think this is normal, and leave any advice, or your own experience below. thanks!!
