Switch to a big girl bed?

Question

My daughter's 2 and a half and we want to get her a new bedroom set and get her out of the crib so we can take her furniture for the baby.  Is it too soon?

I think it all depends on the child and reason. I’m not moving my youngest to a toddler bed until he tries to get out of his crib and I have no other reason to do it. 
You probably want to start to transition so she feels special to get a big girl bed and won’t care about a baby having her bed.

If you think she will be ok in a big girl bed, go for it! They say to start the transition a little bit before the new baby comes so they don’t get jealous the baby took their bed.

My Guide daughter is 16 months and using a toddler bed....I never heard of a two year old in a crib

My daughter started climbing out of her bed at a years and a half and would fall. We switched to a toddler bed then and to a twin size about a year later.

My nephew is almost two and is already sleeping in a full size bed! Before he moved into the new bed, when they would travel to the cabin or Grandmas house they would have him sleep on a blow up bed and he did wonderful on it, so they figured it was time to move up at home!

We switched my oldest when she was 18 months to a twin. We switched my son at 2 yrs to a twin. We switched my youngest when she was 14 months to a toddler since we cant fit a twin yet and cant get bunk beds currently. I'm due in March and we wanted my youngest adjusted out of crib so she would have issues with new baby coming and using it because it was "her bed" so we made a big deal about big girl bed and she is all about her toddler bed now.
