I have no idea what I want to do about college 😐😭

So basically I graduate high school in 5 months and I STILL haven’t applied to any colleges except for 1 community college. I live with my sister and her husband because my mom passed away when I was 13 and they are constantly asking me what I want to do. I just simply don’t know. They have told me that I need to do something that I feel passionate about and I just don’t know what that is yet.

I’m worried about the financial aspect of things because they won’t have guardianship over me anymore so I will be an independent with little to no money saved up. I’m honestly super scared. I just really need some advice about what to do.

Start at a Community College. It’s way cheaper and gives you time to truly decide what you want to do

As far as not knowing what you want to do. That's ok. Thats why you meet with a counselor. And regardless of what you choose the first two years are roughly the same no matter what. Basic English classes, math, history etc. A counselor will help you. And you can always change your mind. Many people go for psychology before they decide what they really want to do. A community college is fine and also a good choice esp when you dont know what you want to do- its financially smart. And if you wont be getting help or be claimed financially that's actually good. You'll be eligible for a greater amount of financial aid. I would say meet with a counselor at your community college or even a counselor at your high school who can help you with financial aid paperwork and get you started ♡ you'll do great

Community college is great! I am going on my second year (I’ll have three in total) and I love it! It’s cheap and so much more face to face with professors and you actually get to know a lot of kids on campus! If you are worried about the financial situation- I HIGHLY recommend applying to be an RA. I did and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I get free housing and you are guaranteed to make friends with your fellow RAs and the students on your floor! If that’s not your cup of tea I would also say look into other groups on campus. Especially things like student ambassadors- they get paid to give tours. Or look into a federal work study! Let me know if you need anything!!! Good luck!

I went to community college right after high school and can’t recommend it enough!! So much cheaper ;) I also had no idea what I wanted to do until I took a social psych class and fell in love with psychology! I’m now at a 4 yr university with 3 semesters to go until my bachelors. I LOVE what I’m studying, still don’t really know what I wanna do with it but I’ll figure it out!

I decided to go to community college and it was the best decision I have ever made. It’s affordable, close to home, I can work. I also didn’t know what I wanted to do too so I didn’t waste money money when I changed majors. I would highly recommend community college to everyone even if you can afford a 4 year. Save money for something better.
