1 year old owlet sock, do I need a new one?

My brother is offering to give me the owlet sock he used for my niece. Even though it’s incredibly generous, I’m hesitant to use one that’s a little over a year old. Should I just get my own?

I bought the owlet for my son who is now 2, and we are using it on my newborn son now.  Still works great!  I just recommend buying new socks from owlet to put the sensor in.  Over time the socks get a bit stretched out, so new socks are an inexpensive option to make it good as new!

Iv been looking into these. Can it actually prevent sids does anyone know? I will follow all safety and sleeping advise but it terrifies me. Iv read stories of mothers who’s babies died away just in their car seats etc because they just went into a really deep sleep and stopped breathing. If this thing showed a reduction in oxygen could you wake them up and avoid this?

Is it the old version of the sock or the new one? If it’s the old sock, get a new one, ifbits the new sock but it’s a year old, you don’t need to get a new one
