Help!? What do i do?

Baby is 3 days old. My breasts are engorged i guess. I havnt pumped only breastfed since baby came out. I think im making waaay more than he needs. I just fed him and he lowered 1 side but my other side is as hard as a rock. Should i pump or what? I dont want to pump and make it worst if my breasts think they need to make more. Its already so much.

Offer both sides if you have to. I could never just do one boob per feed. Only hand express until you feel more comfortable. It’s just your milk coming in and it should chill out in a couple of days.

At 3 days old your milk is starting to come in you will have an over supply for a little while I know I did! After a feeding I would have to pump because I was so full I was pumping anywhere between 7-9oz after a feeding. Start a freezer stash with it  it never hurts.

You can pump for a few minutes to relieve the pressure. My son has always only fed from one breast at a time since my milk came in. My daughter did too. Engorgement happens in the beginning. It'll last about a week usually. Just feed on demand and you CAN pump a little bit as needed , and take some motrin as well to help with discomfort.

Hand express! I was so engorged when my milk came in. I got in the hot shower and just hand expressed until I felt comfort

Nurse on both sides and then if you are still uncomfortable, pump just enough to be comfortable.

I would have to swap sides in the middle of my son eating just to get some relief, but then i would pump until i was empty. I would also have the haakaa pump on the oposite side while nursing because both of my boobs would letdown and would be spraying everywhere.

Help!? What do i do?
