If it's someone under 18 and someone over 18 then yes it matters. But if both people are over 18 then no it does not matter.

I was 17 when I meet my bf he was 22 
We worked really well the age didn’t matter I was mature and in college so it was no big deal it was just a number . Now I’m 18 and he will be 23 next month

I got with my ex when I was 14 and he was 17.. then slept with my current partner when I was 15 and he was 18.. got together 10 days after my 16th and he had turned 19 the month before.. here we are coming up to our 5 year anniversary in November, and have an almost 1 year old.. I’m now 20, his 23 :)
