Teething or Sick?

Question

How do you tell if your baby has a temp because they're teething vs being sick?  My son, 7.5 months, had a temp of 100.9 on Friday, no temp yesterday, and now its 102.6! I already gave him tylenol and messaged his doctor, but I am not sure if he is sick or teething. I babysit m-f and I don't want to get the other baby sick nor do I want to make the other family miss work or scramble to find someone else so last minute.

Does he have any other symptoms? All of my kids have gotten fevers from teething but if it’s just the fever it’s probably just teething.

Any other teething symptoms? Chewing hands, red cheeks, off food, nappy changes (especially poo), dribbling, cranky or off, sleeping changes. 
Other children need to be exposed to germs etc. Id rather my son have colds and a little sickness here and there at this age (as horrible as it is) because otherwise when he’s older he’ll have a poor immune system. I understand though when it comes to work
