No sex?

What’s the reason for the doctor to say no sex while pregnant if it doesn’t cause miscarriages?

Are you having any problems? I am not able to have sex for the last month bc they are monitoring some bleeding that had occurred. I’d assume that sometimes penetration can lead to bleeding and that ( in my case) would probably leave to false reasoning. Such as a miscarriage or something. I would think that they would want to know if I’m bleeding on my own rather than sex causing it. This is just an example what’s going on for me. If they told you no sex it’s deff for a reason.

Well sex it's self can't cause miscarriage unless your high risk and have problems down there it could best to not have sex

i was put on pelvic rest (no sex) because it was causing me to contract. then i couldnt have sex because my cervix was short, and i had the cerclage put in.

While sex itself cannot cause a miscarriage if you are high risk, have had a miscarriage before, or suffer from any pelvic problems it is better to avoid having sex until your doctor gives the okay. It may suck sometimes having to wait but if your doctor has told you to refrain from getting it on then there is a very good reason for it.

It is not always a restriction but may happen. Depends on many factors but mainly the cervix.

With my first I had no restrictions and a lot of sex... between pregnancies I had a leep procedure and so it apparently compromised my cervix which is short this time... so no sex
