Tips for maintaining relationship during times with distance

I am going to Africa for three months for my practical, and I would love to get some tips on how to maintain the relationship while I'm away. Even though our relationship is very solid, my boyfriends is really worried that something bad will happen to me as the crime rates are high. I Just want to do everything I can to make the se three months a little bit easier for both of us. 🥰
