Progesterone Supplement during first trimester?

Has anyone been given a progesterone supplement to take in the first trimester? I just had my first OB (6wks) and my OB is putting me on a progesterone supplement to take until I’m 12 weeks. Didn’t say why just said it could help. He said everything looked good. What is this for, just a little worried.

I was on them from 7 weeks till 12 due to my progesterone being 10.3 when I got my first blood draw. My dr said it wouldn’t necessarily prevent a miscarriage but it I wanted to be in them she would prescribe them. I felt much more relaxed after I started taking them. Currently just 2.5 weeks away from delivering a baby boy.

Yes do to 4 mc. I took them till 13 weeks. I am 17 weeks tomorrow and baby boy is doing great. 3 more weeks I get my anatomy scan.  Good luck momma

My doctor prescribed me the progesterone  suppositories (the into the vagina ones) at my first visit (6w5d) because I had been bleeding for the week prior and she said it helped to strengthen the uterus.

I’ve been on the progesterone vaginal suppositories since 3 days past ovulation and will remain on them until 12 weeks
