Ladies! My first appointment is coming up I’ll be 8 weeks 5 days. Any idea if they’ll do an abdominal or transvaginal US?

When I had my 8 week appointment with my son, they did abdominal and saw everything perfectly. This pregnancy, I was under the care of an RE and they did a scan at 7 weeks and that was vaginal.

Could go either way. Some always do a transvaginal on the initial first trimester scan. This last pregnancy they tried abdominal first and could see well enough so that’s all they did.

I asked my ultrasound tech last time. The office I go to won’t to abdominal until 12 weeks.

For my first pregnancy at 8 weeks they didn’t do an Ultrasound or a heartbeat just a regular check up 
Second pregnancy they did both abdominal and transvaginal , but I had a loss in October so my dr wanted to make sure everything was okay this time

Depends on a lot of things: doctors preference, your body type/shape etc...
I was 7w6d when I went for my first ultrasound and they did an abdominal and saw everything perfectly. I’m 5’5” and 115lbs. So it really just depends.
