If you could chose between C section or Vaginal, what would you choose??

Very curious 1st time and 2nd time moms!!

It’s hard enough recovering from a vaginal delivery. I can’t even imagine having to recover from surgery and handle a newborn.

I feel like recent years have made c sections and absolute spectacle- with women opting for one for ridiculous reasons like “vaginal preservation”. I’m an L&D nurse and routinely scrub in on sections. Until you’ve seen 2 doctors on either side of a table each grab an end of an incision and pull like it’s a tug of war, you have no idea what the trauma of a section can really be like. It is MAJOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY, and while the methods and incision placement have gotten better, it certainly isn’t anything glamorous. 
Heaven forbid you develop a simple cold after surgery. Do you know how painful it is to sneeze with an abdominal incision? I had my gallbladder removed, laparoscopically, and came down with a cold right after. Even with splinting, I felt like my inside were being torn apart with every sneeze. I imagine a cesarean to be equal, if not worse. 
Not meant to scare, just making a point.

I would never choose to have a c section unless it was absolutely necessary. I don’t like being numb or feeling out of control which is why I give birth unmedicated. I don’t understand choosing to undergo major abdominal surgery without a medical reason.

1st time mom. I always thought I’d do a c-section, my best friend did with both her babies and seemed to recover almost instantly. 
I also have severe anxiety, so I was kind of thinking I’d just be like, “knock me the hell out. I’ll enjoy my baby when I wake up.”
Now that I’m actually pregnant, I want to do vaginal with medication. I feel adding the whole surgery thing to it would make it worse. However, if I end up having an emergency c-section, I don’t know how I’ll handle that fear and anxiety. 
Pray for me guys, I’m scared and a mess😂

I wish it was that easy. I had a c - section (emergency) and it was super painful and difficult to deal with + learning to be a new mom. For my second child I don’t really have much choice either, but I’ll do anything all over again to have my baby here ❤️

I am going to be have an elective C section. And this is my first baby. My two sisters and I have oval shaped pelvic bones so doctors had to break my nieces shoulders to get them out. And they came out blue. As much as I would love to deliver vaginally,  I will not put my child through that. So we are having an elective C section.

I had a csection with my first(not planned). I went through all of the labor pushed for 2.5 hours and his massive head got stuck. I was not at all prepared for a csection and the recovery was tough. This time my doctor and I are planning a VBAC, pending any complications or breech as we get closer. I’m praying that I have her vaginally, but I know there’s always a chance of a section. Whatever is safest!

I had a 30 hour labor and 3 hours of pushing with my first. Up and walking and feeling amazing within 30 minutes of epidural being out. Showered the same day. No incision to avoid while trying to figure out how baby would nurse best. Subsequent babies came much faster and recovery was even easier. 
No way I would choose a C-section, even to avoid a harder delivery. Hubby had a hernia repair right after I had baby #2, and it was super obvious how much harder surgery is, and he's not a whiner!
