How to store Milk

At work we have a small fridge and a very tiny freezer and it never actually freezes anything! I just wanna know is it okay if I leave my milk in the fridge and when I get home put it straight to the freezer or since it’s already in the fridge it has to stay in the fridge?

It can go from fridge to freezer. I keep my milk in the fridge then use it for bottles the next day and freeze the rest. When you pull milk from the freezer tho you have to use it in 24h after it’s thawed

I have had good luck with no freezing. Every day I take what I pumped to daycare and they use it the next day. You can keep it in the fridge and then freeze it up to about 5 days later (depends a little on how sterile your pump parts are).

I keep mine in the fridge at work all day and then freeze it right before bed.

I keep my milk in the fridge at work and make bottles for the next day from that milk and freeze the rest.

That’s only if you have high lipase and freezing if doesn’t help either

FYI I recently learned that if you keep milk out or in the fridge for a while and then freeze it, it will get more of the metallic taste. The sooner after pumping you freeze the better.

Yes it’s actually better to not freeze it. It can stay in the fridge for 3-4 days. If you freeze it at work it will most likely thaw before you get home and only be good for 24 hours.

I was wondering this also. Usually I’m at home and whatever I pump goes straight to the freezer. I think once it’s in the fridge though, you shouldn’t put it in the freezer. I could be wrong though!

I have another thing I wondered about, after you warm a bottle up and if your baby doesn’t touch it at all how long is it good for?

You can freeze it from the fridge. You just cannot refreeze it. It’s best to keep it chilled at work and bring it home to freeze.
