Uterus measuring 2 weeks ahead?

At my OB apt yesterday my Dr said my uterus is measuring 2 weeks ahead at 20 weeks (Im 18 weeks) and its right at my belly button level. Anyone else had this? Does this mean my baby is huge already? Lol. My SIL said it could mean I might go into early labor. My doc didnt really say anything more about it, just that its measuring at 20 weeks instead of 18.

Using the fundal height vs. weeks is kind of an old school way of seeing if you’re measuring on track. Doctors still use it, but it’s not the end all/be all of your measurements. Which is why your doctor didn’t really say much about you measuring bigger.

It is probably more indicative of how much fluid you are carrying than the size of the actual baby. Also there can be some variability in how doctors measure, so it may be nothing.

measuring 1-2 weeks ahead is normal for pregnancy cause some women carry differently just like measuring a week behind is ok doc doesnt typically start to look into it until your measuring 3 or more weeks behind or above.... I measured 3 1/2 weeks ahead with my now 5 year old and my issue was Polyhydramnios meaning I had to much amniotic fluid and my son grew very large very quickly but no issue with gd and he was fine at birth until day 5 then he lost body temp control and wouldnt wake up or move spent 2 weeks in an NICU on broad spectrum antibiotics for an infection that they never found just new was causing it

At 17w5d my doctor said I was measuring around 19 weeks and that it was completely normal.
