Water birth?

Question

What are some pros and cons of water birthing? I’m really considering it I only have a few months left and need to try to get something in place if everything works out all right,

I used the tub for pain relief (no epidural) but I ended up having to give birth outside of it because we needed a few interventions because of my son’s fat head. It was nice being in a warm bath though.

I had two water births so can’t compare to anything else but I loved them, especially the second time when my hips had been hurting for weeks before birth. The tub took all the weight and discomfort away. 
I did totally feel the ring of fire with my second though, and I had some moments where I thought it wasn’t maybe the nicest to be in a tub full of all the other fluids (my water broke, I peed, and puked with my second birth). But they rinsed me off before I got out of the tub so it was really nice to meet my babies all clean and fresh from a shower

I did a waterbirth the first time and plan to again (any day now 🙄)!
The only cons:
Once you get so far, you might not be able to get out if you change your mind 😂
My husband spend most of active labor keeping me from drowning (bless him)
And
You can't-at least at my birthing center- pass your placenta in the water. The reason for this is that delivering the afterbirth in the water is where the biggest chance of any type of infection lies. So getting out of the tub and walking to the bed with an umbilical cord hanging out your vag is a con. 
But they say that the pain is less, the testing is less, and there's no ring of fire. Having nothing to compare it to I can't really say either way, but those were the reasons I decided to try it. I definitely felt way more at home in the this than my brief time on my back!

Now another question is can you still do delayed cord cutting or do they try to do everything a little quicker to get you out of the tub so you can deliver the placenta?

I loved my water birth with my second, took the weight off my back! Only con for me is my cord snapped when baby came out and the pool filled with blood, looked like a crime scene 🙈😂

I labored in the tub, and I felt it really helped. I talked to my Ob about doing a water birth and she made the point that she wouldn’t be able to support my perenium as well. If I was willing to give birth out of the water, she would be able to provide the support and therefore help prevent tearing. 
There’s also a slightly higher risk of infection in a water birth vs non water.
I didn’t tear even a little when I gave birth to my daughter, and I attribute it to my OB giving me that extra support.
