Can Braxton Hicks feel like dull period cramps?

I’m a ftm, starting last night I noticed waves of dull cramps, uncomfortable not really painful. Just noticeable. I have a doctors appt this morning where I’ll obviously ask about this. I’m partially worried I’m having contractions? I tried timing them but I also wanted to get sleep... so a few times in a row they last about a minute and seem to be less than 5 mins apart. But again, it just feels like dull... tightening in the period cramping region. Then does away and I feel 100%. Then comes back.
