Anyone think we get too emo about miscarriages?
At home pregnancy tests have only been around for 50 years, and hCG has only been a known marker of pregnancy for 90 years. Before that, for thousands and thousands of years, women would have miscarried wayyyy before pregnancy was confirmed. Presumably blind to early miscarriages, women wouldn't have felt the loss that women today express. I wonder if this modern technology is a gateway to more pain than it's worth? Women carry the grief of a miscarriage with them for their whole life these days.
