Period 6days late ?

So my period is now 6days late and i dont know what to do yesterday I took a pregnancy test but it came out negative. Did i take it too early? And how long can a period be late before considering pregnancy?

There are a few things to consider first: 
- Are your periods regular and predictable?
- Do you experience any PMS symptoms? If so are any of them different?
- Are you ttc
- Do you take any meds/supplements that could alter your cycle?
Remember, do not look for pregnancy related stuff, just trust your body. I would test again in a day or two and maybe go from there.
