When should I tell my daughter I’m pregnant?

Our nearly 8 year old daughter has longed for a sibling since she was old enough to talk!  We found out a few weeks ago and I’m currently around 7 weeks. 
We’ve told a couple of close members of family, including my in-laws. We’re supposed to be having a family dinner on Saturday and I can’t help but think it’s going to slip out 😂 
Is it unfair to tell her before 12 weeks?

You do what works for you. Not to be negative, just honest, but we told our 11-year-old sons at 8 weeks last year and I had a MMC at 10 weeks. They were devastated. This time we will be waiting a little longer. But there is always a risk of something happening. You do what feels right for you and your family. And congrats to you!

We told our kids after an ultrasound at 10 weeks showed that everything looked good. We had a miscarriage before this pregnancy though, so we didn’t want to tell them until we felt it was safe.

Im waiting to atleast 12. Anything can happen even further along. But the chance of mc decreases a lot at the 12 week mark. Im 6wks 5 days. My son cried last time i told him and lost it before the 1st ultrasound. After 4 mcs im waiting.

I told my daughter aged 7,  a month after I found out. I’d say you’re best to judge on their maturity would they be ok if something was to go wrong.
