Car seat?!

Question

So I was thinking of getting a 3 in 1 car seat or should I just stick to a regular one. I’m so undecided. Which one do you guys have and recommend?

I liked having the infant carrier when my baby was little. He stayed in the car seat a lot when he was going out with us cuz he would just sleep the infant carrier allowed me to just unclick it from the base in the car and click it into the car seat without waking him up. Once he need a new car seat I got a nice convertible one for him to grow with all the way to a booster seat.

I went straight to a convertible with my third baby. I hated the infant carriers with my other too. They’re bulky and heavy and you really aren’t supposed to use them on shopping carts. Anyway. Best decision I ever made. Never had any trouble with him going back to sleep (if he even woke up while getting him in and out). We either carried him or baby wore until he could sit on his own in a cart. Hubby and I just took turns of shopping took a while. We’ll be doing the same with this baby. #noregerts

Our baby started out in a Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat, which we absolutely loved and will definitely be saving for the next baby we have. It was so nice to be able to take her in places really quick while still keeping her warm and not having to unbuckle her from the car seat! Plus I felt like during flu season it was great to keep her shielded from the germs if I took her to the store or out to eat! It’s also nice because you can buy an additional base so that you and your partner both can have one and make it easy for moving the car seat between vehicles. We now have upgraded to the Chicco Nextfit Zip which we love also. We like Chicco for the above and beyond safety features that their products offer.

So we have both.. the infant one is great because it clicks into a base and I can take it out and put it into my stroller and not have to worry about taking him out and putting him back in if I don’t have to.. but we have a convertible one too that we’re gonna use for longer drives because it’s a little more comfortable for him to sleep in

For a newborn, I would definitely get the standard infant carseat. You'll find the baby falls asleep a lot in the car & it's no fun waking them up to get them out of the car. When they're older they can kind if stay asleep a little better when getting then out, like maybe 2 years old. Plus when you go places, it's extremely convenient to just take out the carseat & take it to where you're going (especially if they're asleep) or just to have with you do they can be put down.
