Has anyone actually birthed in a different position if you were at the hospital?

I've read a lot on different birthing positions (as in actually during the birthing, not just labor) and I'm curious to see if anyone's been able to at the hospital or if they made you do it on your back.

They didn't make me go on my back. I was just in too much pain to try anything else 😂

They can’t force you to birth a specific way. You can say no or try any position you feel most comfortable with (unless you get an epidural, then you’re kinda stuck on your back). 
But you’re in charge of your own body. You get to decide how to birth your baby. My mom told me how her cousin got mad at her doctor while giving birth for not listening to her and literally said “you’re fired, don’t touch me” and reached down and caught the baby herself. That’s an extreme example, but gets the point across.

I honestly didn't know if I had a choice, I gave birth on my back. I hated that because I was pushing so hard that my entire bum would go up in the air, and my legs were on those supports so they were starting to go numb.

I labored on my hands and knees with my daughter but they had to flip me over and try to vacuum her out because her heart rate kept dropping. That was the only position that was somewhat tolerable!

I ended up with a c-section, but our local hospital supports laboring and delivering in a position that works for the mom. One doctor delivered a child while lying on the floor under the hospital bed (mom was on a birthing stool resting her upper body on the bed). He also had a flashlight in his mouth so the low lighting could be maintained.

Both my girls I pushed on all fours for most of the pushes and then turned around to a semi reclined squat position. I wasn’t lying down and actually it felt very comfortable. I guess we will see what happens this time around
