My now ex-husband had a female best friend.... With the girl he had the longest relationship (3 years) with before me. I won't lie that it totally made me uncomfortable at first. But, then I got to know her, and I knew why they remained friends. Her and I actually almost moved in together but the timing with leases didn't end up lining up. It is entirely possible for men and women to just be platonic friends. Hell, my ex-husband and I are still friends, and I hang out with him and his live-in girlfriend when I go back home.
