Getting tattooed on period

So I’m Getting a thigh tattoo and I realised too late that I will be getting it done when I’m on my period. The artist is female so I’m not worried about having to explain to her that I’m a little worried about bleeding on the chair or I don’t want to be lying down for too long but is there any suggestions on how I can sorta cover the smell while she’s that close to me or to help prevent bleeding through clothing! It will be day 2 of my period and that tends to be the heaviest for me
