Choking on saliva?

My LO is constantly choking on her spit. Even during her sleep. Like to the point of not breathing for a second. She is almost 4 months 
Is this normal? Hopefully just a phase she will grow out of soon.

My daughter is 5 weeks old and this happens to her. She’ll be asleep and all of a sudden start gagging and choking. It scares the crap outta me I’ll quickly turn her to her side and pat her back! Next dr appt I plan to bring it up.

My son used to do the same, he grew out of it eventually.

My son did the same thing and his was related to his reflux. As soon as we started his reflux medicine he didn’t do it anymore.
