Are baby shower games a must?

I didn't have any at my shower. My mom hates games and she threw the shower. I agree with her so I was good with her. I'm glad none of my in laws came because they would have been mad. They gave me crap for serving beer (along with a full, free bar) at my wedding reception.I think it's a personal preference.
