When did you share your news?

Just found out a few days ago and I'm 4 weeks, 3 days.
I'm already dying to tell, but mainly cuz my mom lives with us and I'm already having symptoms I have to hide.
Our plan was tell my mom, hubby's mom, grandpa, and sister (they're in one house) at 8 weeks after confirmation at the 8 week appt. Then, tell the world at 12 weeks when it's a bit safer.
But, just curious what others did and if you regretted it?

We told people at 6weeks.we had two miscarriages and needed the support of family,  because the miscarriages were in secret.

We told people shortly after the 12 week scan and blood tests. I’m very glad we did because we got to enjoy it ourselves for a while which was lovely and avoid all the annoying comments for a bit longer. I don’t think there’s any need to tell people early unless you want to because pregnancy is long! The other benefit is that we knew that all the tests showed that the baby appeared healthy and we were out of the higher risk miscarriage zone so it meant we felt more comfortable about celebrating and the people we told were extra happy that we had got good news already. I would hate to have told earlier only to have to tell people that it was not viable or there were serious problems that would mean we would not be continuing with the pregnancy. However other people would be fine with people knowing about this as they would like the support. It all depends on how you think you would feel if there were problems. We went public quite a while after that. Just tell when you feel ready and as you’re still at the very start you have plenty of time to think about it although it’s harder to hide if you live with family. If you can trust your mother to keep it quiet you could just tell her if you would prefer that. Congrats :) x

Told both parents and siblings immediately (we’ve had several miscarriages and needed the prayers). I’m 19 weeks and still haven’t officially announced to the world.

I just told my mom at 6w, and we’re planning on telling my dad/grandma and my in laws at 8+3. General public announcement at 12ish weeks. Probably 12+3

We told my mom after my dating ultrasound (6+2), told his mom at 7+1, and posted on Facebook at 7+3. I couldn’t wait lol.

We told family days after finding out (before 4 weeks). We announced to the world at 7 weeks after a healthy US. We had a chemical pregnancy the month before and I hadnt told anyone yet. It was so lonely and hard. I didnt want that to happen again. So even tho I knew the risks, I wanted the support if anything happened. Do what feels right to you

I told family at about 8 weeks. And announced at 12. But I have a history of loss so I was just paranoid

My mom and sister at 10 weeks only because I got super sick and needed a home nurse to come administer meds through IV and we live with my mom... 2 friends at 6 weeks and I am currently 17 weeks and haven’t told anyone yet lmao. Don’t regret it and don’t really care although I might have to confirm when people ask soon because I’m getting bigger.
