Am I the only one who’s scared of driving or do I need to get my crap together and move on?

I’m 18 and I’ve never driven a car before. My family and friends think I’m being lazy, but I’m secretly really scared of screwing up. What if I hit the wrong button or get in a car crash or hit something/someone? I don’t know, it just scares me even though everyone thinks it’s easy and simple.

There's nothing wrong with being scared about driving. I was and it set me back quite a bit, to the point where I didn't get my license until I was 20. Then again I am blind in one eye. Just take your own time.

This is literally me. I didn’t learn until after high school this summer and I still don’t have my license. I have most of my hours but still need to take the test.
But I totally get what you mean about being scared. It’s kinda terrifying the first couple times but you get used to it and you just have to concentrate on making sure you are doing everything and not think about the fact that you are actually driving a car. That’s how I deal with it at least. But know you’re not alone! I have a couple other friends who don’t have licensees at 18 and 19, don’t worry.

Girl me too! I’m 16 (soon 17) and I don’t even have my permit and people are always bugging me to get it. Like, no, I don’t want to get my permit because everyone always post pics of them driving in the middle of the road and there are way too many drunk drivers and people who text and drive for me to feel safe. Also I’m not good at split-second decision making and I just don’t think I can do it tbh

That’s why you learn. There’s a first time for everything, right? Start off at a school during the weekends ( because nobody is there) and go from there. Also there are driving schools that help.and start off slow. I was scared at first but I practiced and yes my dad yelled at me but now it’s a memory
