How do I get my 2.5 year old to sleep in her bed?! HELP please!
So my daughter has ALWAYS been a terrible sleeper. My husband and I tried everything the books suggested when she was a baby and she she would have phases where she would do well then she always regresses. Anyway, our bedtime routine now is she falls asleep with me on the couch (all lights out at 9:00) then I take her to her bed when she falls asleep (which usually only takes like 15 minutes for her to pass out). I knew it wasn’t ideal but it has worked well for a while, so we just kept that routine. The last month or so has been rough though...now she is refusing to lay down with me or her dad, refuses to lay in her bed, throws a fit sometimes, anything to get out of going to sleep. So it turns into a fight and my husband will threaten that she will have to go to her bed if she doesn’t lay down with one of us and has tried to put her in her room once but i don’t like that because 1) I don’t want her to look at her bed as a “punishment” and 2) her room is where she goes to time-out and I don’t want her to get “bedtime” and “time-out” confused. Oh ANNNND I’m 6 months pregnant 😬. So...what do we do?! 😩😩. How did you all successfully transfer your toddlers to go to sleep in their beds?! Any suggestions will be so appreciated! Thanks so much! 😘
